Younger IIMs take professional help to get their students placed

In a bid to get their students placed, younger IIMs such as IIM Kashipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Shillong are taking professional help. According to a report published in The Economic Times, these three IIMs have hired advisors in corporate relations and placement to create better links and to reach out to companies. This report quotes Gautam Sinha, director, IIM Kashipur, "It's like a start-up challenge. We need time to establish and promote the institute. There are companies who don't even know where new IIMs are. Also, the market realities of placements can't be wished away."

According to a report published in The Economic Times, these three IIMs have hired advisors in corporate relations and placement to create better links and to reach out to companies. Large batch sizes have added to the challenge. According to this report, these advisors have been asked to ‘build relationships with top management in companies, sourcing talent for corporate, organizing and initiating chairs and endowments, getting corporate sponsorships for events, handling various stakeholders and marketing the institute’s brands.
