Companies let staff buy and sell, cash out leave

It's that time of the year when most companies bring out new leave policies, and innovation has certainly crept into this aspect which governs the 'life' part of an employee's work-life balance. Going beyond the traditional ways in which leaves are offered, a few companies are giving employees the option to buy or sell leave or trade off a certain quantum of leaves with a weekend getaway.

Going beyond the traditional ways in which leaves are offered, a few companies are giving employees the option to buy or sell leave or trade off a certain quantum of leaves with a weekend getaway.

Some others are planning to offer a bonus leave to those employees who plan their annual leaves well in advance, while there are still others who have begun to question the concept of restricting the number of sick leaves in a year. Clearly, companies continue to tweak leave policies while ensuring the organizations benefit at the end of it all.
