L’Oreal India extends maternity leave to 26 weeks

The company increased maternity leave to 26 weeks from 14 weeks along with other benefits to strengthen women workforce in India.

To promote gender diversity L’Oréal India has extended maternity leave to 26 weeks from the current 14 weeks in a move which is aimed at boosting a healthy and productive work environment for women employees.

The company promises to offer a wide array of benefits like pre-commute assistance for expecting women employees starting from the sixth month of pregnancy and child care allowance for two years from the date of delivery. 

Mohit James, director HR L’Oréal India, said,

The business case of an enhanced maternity leave policy and other parental benefits is to retain high potential talent, enhance productivity and make the company an attractive employer”.

These initiatives will definitely help the women employees to have a smooth transit to work as they can also avail reduced work hours for two continuous weeks immediately after resuming work.

Further, all male employees at L’Oréal India are eligible for two weeks of paternity leave. Additionally, the adoption leave also has been increased to 12 weeks for mothers and one week for fathers. 

L’Oréal India is committed towards building an employee benefits package that caters to the diverse needs of the employees. Toward this, the company offers multiple pre- and post-natal support and programs to its employees so they are cared for both professionally and personally.
