Women returning to work after breaks see 18% increase in job openings: study

There has been an 18% rise in job opportunities for women rejoining the workforce after a break. This increase is primarily attributed to initiatives undertaken by both the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on promoting gender diversity and inclusion.

Industries like healthcare and pharma, education, BFSI (banking, financial services, and insurance), and the technology sector are offering the most opportunities for women as they reintegrate into the job market, revealed the study conducted by Spectrum Talent Management.

Furthermore, multiple factors are contributing to this trend, encompassing a cultural shift toward inclusive workplaces, the increasing presence of educated women in professional settings, initiatives focused on workplace diversity, flexible work options, and the escalating demand for a diverse range of skills and talents.

“We are encouraged by these findings and remain committed to supporting women on their journey to professional success. As we continue to witness this positive trajectory, our aim is to create an ecosystem that nurtures skills, fosters inclusivity, and empowers women to achieve their career aspirations, contributing significantly to the evolving workforce,” said Vidur Gupta, Director of Spectrum Talent Management.

Acknowledging the potential variations in pay, job roles, and career progression across different sectors and positions, the study underscores the ongoing efforts to address these disparities

It also highlights the evolving landscape where companies are increasingly prioritising the cultivation of gender diversity and inclusivity. This emphasis aims to ensure equitable and unbiased opportunities for women's career growth.
