An air hostess from Air India took it to twitter and appealed directly to Aviation Minister, Suresh Prabhu regarding a sexual harassment complaint. To which Suresh Prabhu replied and asked the Air India to investigate in the matter. Even Maneka Gandhi, Minister for Women and Child Development intervened and demanded a probe.

Suresh Prabhu tweeted that he has Asked the CMD of Air India to immediately address the matter. He wrote, “If necessary, will appoint another committee.” While Maneka Gandhi wrote that she has seen the complaint and has requested Suresh Prabhu to have it examined immediately.

The content of the letter shared by the cabin crew member suggests that she had been sexually harassed, tortured and discriminated for about 6 years by a senior executive. She wrote, “Without mincing any words, this senior executive (whose name will be revealed when I meet you) is a predator and has sexually propositioned me, abused me, used abusive language on other women in my presence, spoken of sexual acts with me and other women in my presence in the office premises and he has tried to compel women in his office (including me) to come and drink with him at various bars, and many of us have been forced to do so.

As per the letter, there are many witnesses to such incidents as well. But allegedly, the airline and women's committee of Air India tried to cover up the complaints along with senior executives, who are helping the offender.
