In the latest edition of the Dataquest-IDC Best Employers Survey conducted on 200 IT companies operating in India, HCL has emerged as the best employer for the year 2009. India’s leading IT & Technology Company which was ranked third in 2008 beat 31 other companies to take up the top spot in the survey. It also topped the list of companies with best employee satisfaction record. The 2009 survey however had its own setbacks as IT majors such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Satyam refused to take part fearing an obvious backlash from employees over layoffs and salary re-alignment. HCL was adjudged the winner based on its overall performance on all parameters of judgment. Besides HCL, the other companies to make to the top five were iGate Global Solutions, Rolta India, RMSI and SAS Institute of India.
