Former BNY HR leader joins Allianz Technology to lead people and culture strategy as the company strengthens its India operations.

Allianz Technology has appointed Mansi Nigam as Chief People and Culture Officer for India, bringing in a senior HR leader with experience across global financial services, technology and industrial sectors.

Nigam announced the move in a LinkedIn post, saying she was “excited and humbled to join Allianz Technology as Chief People and Culture Officer, India”, after nearly seven years with global financial services firm BNY.

The appointment places Nigam in charge of people strategy, organisational development and workforce culture across Allianz Technology’s India operations, which form a key part of the company’s global technology delivery network.

Allianz Technology is the global IT services arm of the Allianz Group, supporting the insurer’s digital infrastructure, platforms and technology operations worldwide.

Leadership transition after seven years at BNY

Nigam joins Allianz Technology after a series of senior HR leadership roles at BNY (Bank of New York Mellon), where she worked for almost seven years.

Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and HR Business Partner for Global Fund Services Operations and India operations, overseeing people strategy and organisational leadership for key business units.

Earlier, she held roles as Senior Vice President – HR Business Partner for India Engineering and Vice President – HR Business Partner for Technology and Operations, supporting large technology teams and operational functions.

Her responsibilities included strategic workforce planning, leadership development, employee engagement and organisational design across the bank’s India-based operations.

Global financial institutions such as BNY have expanded their technology and operations presence in India in recent years, making HR leadership roles increasingly central to talent strategy.

Experience across technology and multinational firms

Nigam brings more than a decade of HR leadership experience spanning financial services, enterprise technology and the agrochemical sector.

Before joining BNY, she worked at Syngenta, where she led people and organisation development initiatives in South Asia, including talent management and leadership pipeline programmes.

She also held a talent management leadership role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, focusing on leadership development and high-potential talent identification across India operations.

Her professional background includes experience across key HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning and development, HR business partnering and employee engagement.

Nigam holds an MBA in Human Resources and Marketing from the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science engineering.

Strengthening people strategy in India

Nigam’s appointment comes as multinational technology and financial services companies continue to expand their operations in India, turning the country into one of the largest global talent hubs.

India hosts a growing number of global capability centres (GCCs) and technology delivery centres, where workforce strategy and leadership development have become key competitive factors.

Allianz Technology has been expanding its technology footprint globally to support Allianz Group’s digital transformation initiatives.

Within that context, HR leaders are increasingly responsible for shaping culture, digital workforce capability and talent retention, particularly in high-demand technology markets.

Industry analysts note that people leadership roles have become more strategic as companies navigate hybrid work models, skills shortages and competition for digital talent.

Focus on culture and organisational transformation

As Chief People and Culture Officer for India, Nigam will oversee initiatives aimed at strengthening employee experience, organisational culture and leadership development across Allianz Technology’s workforce in the country.

The role also typically involves aligning talent strategy with the company’s global technology priorities, including digital innovation and operational resilience.

For global technology organisations operating in India, the ability to attract and retain specialised talent — from engineers to data professionals — has become increasingly critical.

Nigam’s combination of experience in technology, financial services and multinational corporate environments is likely to be central to that agenda.

Looking ahead

The appointment highlights the growing importance of HR leadership within global technology operations in India.

As companies expand their digital infrastructure and technology capabilities, people strategy is emerging as a core business priority rather than a purely administrative function.

Nigam’s move to Allianz Technology signals the company’s focus on strengthening leadership capability as it scales operations in one of the world’s most competitive talent markets.

For multinational technology firms, the challenge ahead will be building organisational cultures that can support rapid innovation while maintaining workforce stability — a balance that HR leaders will increasingly be tasked to deliver.
