Anjali Byce moves from Tata Motors to Suzlon Energy as Group CHRO

Suzlon Energy has appointed Anjali Byce as its Group Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), effective 29 July 2026, strengthening its leadership team with an HR executive who brings nearly three decades of experience across manufacturing, engineering and industrial businesses.

Byce joins Suzlon from Tata Motors, where she most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer. She succeeds Rajendra Mehta, whose last working day at Suzlon was 28 July 2026 following his resignation.

Leadership transition at Suzlon Energy

Suzlon confirmed Byce's appointment as part of a planned leadership transition within its HR function.

She takes over from Rajendra Mehta, who joined the Suzlon Group in December 2022 and led the company's people function until his departure this month.

The appointment takes effect immediately following Mehta's exit.

Nearly three decades of HR leadership experience

Byce brings approximately 27 years of experience in human resources and organisational leadership.

Before joining Suzlon Energy, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Tata Motors, overseeing the company's HR function.

Over the course of her career, she has held leadership positions across multiple sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, automotive and technology.

Academic background

Byce holds postgraduate qualifications in psychology and human resources. Her academic credentials include:

• Master's degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Delhi
• Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources from the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development

The appointment comes as Suzlon continues to strengthen its leadership team across business functions.

Byce's experience across industrial and manufacturing organisations aligns with Suzlon's operations in the renewable energy sector, where workforce capability, leadership development and organisational transformation remain important priorities.

Her move also marks another senior HR leadership transition within India's corporate sector, with executives continuing to move between large industrial and manufacturing companies as organisations reshape their leadership teams.
