Apollo Tyres appoints Omar Bali as Group Head for Talent, Learning and HRBL

Apollo Tyres Ltd has appointed Omar Bali as Group Head – Talent, Learning and HRBL – Enabling Functions, adding a seasoned HR leader with more than two decades of experience across manufacturing, technology and consumer-facing industries.

The appointment strengthens the tyre maker’s people leadership team as it continues to focus on talent development, organisational effectiveness and workforce transformation across its global operations.

According to information shared by the company, Bali will oversee talent, learning and HR business leadership responsibilities for enabling functions, bringing expertise in global talent strategy, leadership development, learning and development, workforce planning and organisational change.

Veteran HR leader joins from Signify

Bali joins Apollo Tyres after spending more than seven years with Signify, where he most recently served as Global Head – Talent & DE&I between October 2022 and May 2026.

In that role, he led talent strategy across more than 70 countries and supported the company's transition from traditional manufacturing operations towards IoT-enabled solutions. His responsibilities included workforce planning, succession management, leadership pipeline development, organisational transformation and digital learning initiatives.

Experience across multiple international markets

Before assuming the global talent leadership role, Bali served as Head HR – Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Pakistan at Signify, where he acted as a strategic HR partner across more than 25 markets.

His responsibilities included leadership succession planning, manager capability development, employee experience initiatives, workforce diversity programmes and organisational restructuring efforts.

Earlier in his career at Philips Lighting, he worked as Director HR, supporting the company's professional B2B and OEM businesses during a period of technological and organisational transition.

Career spans manufacturing, consumer goods and technology

Bali brings experience from several prominent organisations across industries.

His previous leadership assignments include:

• Head – Business HR at Micromax Informatics, overseeing HR for sales, service and international operations
• Senior HR leadership roles at Whirlpool Corporation, covering business partnering, learning and development, talent acquisition, engagement and performance management
• HR leadership responsibilities at Marico Limited, supporting sales, manufacturing and supply chain functions
• Early-career HR roles at GSK Consumer Healthcare India, where he progressed from Management Trainee to Deputy Manager – HR
• A summer internship with Mahindra at the beginning of his professional journey

His career spans India, Europe, the Middle East and other international markets, providing exposure to diverse workforce and business environments.
