To fuel the next phase of tech-stack innovation and product evolution, digital payments and banking technology company, Cashfree, has appointed Ramkumar Venkatesan as SVP of Engineering. 

Ramkumar comes with more than 24 years of experience in ad-tech, big data, e-commerce, and database technology in US and Indian markets. His most recent role was as CTO and VP of Engineering at Jivox, where he led the growth of the engineering team and the acquisition of new customers through product innovation. He is passionate about scalability, sustainability and quality in technology and engineering teams and has a few patents in distributed systems.

As Ramkumar takes on the new role he looks forward to enhancing Cashfree's product offerings, market share, and technology across the globe. “India and Cashfree are at the forefront of innovation in the digital economy and payments. I am thrilled about my foray into the world of fintech with Cashfree, led by talented and ambitious individuals. Cashfree is one of the top fintechs in the country that has been enabling seamless, digital transactions through a customer-centric and innovative approach," said Ramkumar.

Akash believes Ramkumar's expertise and domain knowledge will be invaluable as Cashfree looks to scale up. 

Cashfree is one of the the leading payment service providers in India and processes transactions worth USD 20 billion annually. With over 50% market share among payment processors, Cashfree today is getting ahead in its way in bulk disbursals in India with Cashfree Payouts. Recently, India’s largest lender, SBI invested in Cashfree underscoring the company’s role in building a robust payments ecosystem. As the company continues to grow and expand its market share in the competititve fintech sector, product innovation, design, and custome experience is key.

Ramkumar will have to play a significant role in enhancing Cashfree's business success and scaling the engineering team to enable rapid innovation and customer delight.
