While Manish Tolani, Head of Sales at ITC Hotels will soon be joining Hilton as Vice-President and Commercial Director later this year, Neelanjona Gupta from Hyatt will be coming on board as its Regional Director of Sales (India).

Hilton India has also roped in Mallika Rao Bedi, Former Head of Human Resources at Oberoi and Trident Gurugram as the Regional Director, Human Resources, Hilton India.

As these professionals come from companies with a bigger hotel portfolio in India, Navjit Ahluwalia, Country Head, Hilton India says that being small here offers an opportunity for growth.

Navjit, who had been working with Marriott since 13 years was also recently appointed by Hilton in January, to lead its India business.

“At this point, we may be small in India but we are one of the top hotel brands globally. These professionals know that they will grow along with Hilton. Our next cycle of growth will come from India and we will be in a hiring mode,” said Navjit.

He further shared that besides the announced pipeline of hotels that would be made operational over the next three years, the firm is in discussion with at least a dozen more asset owners to get them on board and further expand the presence.

As Hilton India heads towards the direction of more growth and expansion, having a robust talent strategy in place will remain one of its key agenda. And this is where Mallika’s experience as an HR leader will come in handy. At Hilton, her key areas of focus will be to work with the India team to drive best practices as well as reinforce Hilton as amongst the best places to work.
