Peyman Kargar to lead TVS Motor Company as CEO from January 2027

TVS Motor Company has named Peyman Kargar, currently President of International Business, as its next Chief Executive Officer, setting the stage for a planned leadership transition as the company looks to deepen its global footprint and build on record business performance.
TVS Motor Company has announced the appointment of Peyman Kargar as Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 27, 2027, marking one of the most significant leadership transitions at the company in recent years.
Kargar will succeed K. N. Radhakrishnan, who will continue as CEO until the transition date to ensure continuity. Following the handover, Radhakrishnan will serve as a Non-Executive Director until the company's ensuing Annual General Meeting scheduled for July 2027.
The appointment comes at a time when TVS Motor Company is expanding its international presence and strengthening its position in key mobility markets.
Leadership transition follows record business performance
The succession plan arrives against the backdrop of strong operational momentum for the two and three-wheeler manufacturer.
According to the company, TVS Motor Company delivered a record performance in FY2025-26, achieving:
- 5.9 million vehicles sold globally
- 30% revenue growth
- Continued expansion across international markets
The company said the leadership change forms part of its preparations for the next phase of growth as it seeks to consolidate its position in India while accelerating its presence worldwide.
In a statement, Sudarshan Venu, Chairman of TVS Motor Company, described the appointment as an important step in the company's future plans.
He said Kargar combines global industry experience, strategic vision and a strong understanding of customers and markets, adding that his contribution as President of International Business had already helped strengthen the business.
A global automotive executive takes the helm
Kargar brings more than three decades of automotive industry experience spanning multiple regions and functions.
His career has included leadership roles across:
- Europe
- Asia
- Africa
- The Middle East
His experience covers product development, research and development, manufacturing, quality, sales and marketing.
According to TVS Motor Company, this broad exposure across the automotive value chain provides a deep understanding of the factors influencing long-term growth and competitiveness in the mobility sector.
The appointment also reflects the increasing strategic importance of the company's international operations.
Under Kargar's leadership, the International Business division has become a larger contributor to overall growth.
The company said the division currently:
- Contributes 29% of total sales volume
- Is growing at 33%
These figures highlight the growing role overseas markets are playing in TVS Motor Company's expansion strategy.
Focus on innovation, premiumisation and global markets
As CEO, Kargar will oversee the company's next phase of growth across domestic and international markets.
TVS Motor Company said his priorities will include:
- Product innovation
- Premiumisation initiatives
- Expansion into developed markets
- Strengthening the company's global position
Commenting on his appointment, Kargar said the company was entering a new phase of growth while continuing to expand its presence and consolidate its position in India and international markets.
He also highlighted technology, artificial intelligence, quality and customer centricity as areas of focus.
According to Kargar, strengthening technology leadership and AI capabilities will remain important as the company pursues its long-term vision and growth ambitions.
Radhakrishnan to support transition process
The announcement also marks the beginning of the final phase of K. N. Radhakrishnan's tenure as CEO.
Radhakrishnan will remain in charge until January 2027 and support the transition process before moving into a Non-Executive Director role.
In a statement, he said it had been a privilege to serve as CEO and work alongside the company's teams.
He expressed confidence in Kargar's ability to lead the business and said he looked forward to supporting a smooth leadership transition over the coming months.
International growth increasingly central to strategy
The leadership change underscores how international markets are becoming a larger component of TVS Motor Company's growth story.
While India remains a core market, the company has steadily expanded its global reach in recent years. The growing contribution from international operations suggests overseas expansion is becoming an increasingly important driver of future performance.
Kargar's appointment also places a leader with extensive global automotive experience at the centre of the company's next chapter.
As the transition unfolds over the next several months, investors, industry observers and competitors will be watching how TVS Motor Company balances domestic growth, global expansion, technology investments and evolving mobility trends under its future leadership.
