Rohan Murty set to become vice president at Infosys

Rohan Murty, son of Infosys chairman NR Narayana Murthy who joined the company as an executive assistant to his father, will soon be designated as vice president, PTI reported. Narayana Murthy had on his return to India's second largest software exporter in June stated that his son would have no leadership role in the company and he was being brought in only to make him "more effective".

Narayana Murthy had on his return to India's second largest software exporter in June stated that his son would have no leadership role in the company and he was being brought in only to make him "more effective".

To a query if Murty has become vice president, an Infosys spokesperson said: "Rohan Murty's appointment at Infosys is yet to be approved by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs." 30-year old Rohan is a junior fellow at the Society of Fellows at Harvard University. He is a Ph.D in Computer Science from the prestigious university and did his Bachelor's in Computer Science from Cornell University. He has held fellowships at MIT, Caltech and Microsoft Research.
