Hungama Digital Media Entertainment has announced that Siddhartha Roy has stepped down as chief executive officer, marking a significant leadership change at the digital entertainment company. Roy’s departure concludes a tenure in which he helped expand Hungama’s presence across music, video, gaming and consumer engagement platforms.

Roy played a central role in broadening the company’s commercial footprint, developing partnerships across telecom operators, device manufacturers and distribution channels. He also worked closely with content creators and studios, strengthening Hungama’s position in a rapidly evolving entertainment market shaped by streaming adoption and rising demand for digital experiences.

Before joining Hungama, Roy co-founded the youth network BigAdda and held senior roles at MTV Networks and Star TV. His career has focused on digital product development, audience engagement and implementing strategic shifts within India’s media landscape.

In a statement, Roy said his time at the company had been a period of “innovation, work and growth,” and thanked his team for their support. He added that he would share plans for his next role in due course.

Hungama has not disclosed succession arrangements or details on interim leadership. The transition comes as India’s digital entertainment sector continues to consolidate, with platforms competing for scale, differentiated content and deeper integration across devices and telecom ecosystems. Roy’s departure places attention on how Hungama will position itself in the next phase of market expansion and technological change.
