Suhail Sameer to quit as BharatPe’s CEO: report

BharatPe’s chief executive officer Suhail Sameer is resigning from the company. He has been overseeing the beleaguered fintech company after it ousted co-founder Ashneer Grover alleging financial misappropriation.

According to a report by Mint, a leadership transition is being planned at the firm, and an announcement in this regard will likely be made later this month.

Suhail Sameer’s resignation is not the first top-level exit in recent months. Before him, three senior executives—chief technology officer Vijay Aggarwal, PostPe head Nehul Malhotra, and Rajat Jain, chief product officer for lending and consumer products, left the Tiger Global investee firm.

Prior to BharatPe, Sameer was associated with the FMCG business at RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group. He joined the beleaguered fintech company in August 2020 as president. Later in August 2021, Sameer was formally made the CEO of the company.
