The Bangalore based food ordering and delivery company Swiggy has named Vivek Sunder as its first Chief Operating Officer.  The former P&G Managing Director will be in-charge of developing and executing Swiggy’s strategic direction and priorities to drive organizational growth and operational excellence.

“Swiggy’s strength lies in the quality and talent of our team, which has received an incredible boost with Vivek coming on board,” said Sriharsha Majety, CEO, Swiggy on Vivek’s appointment.

“I am confident that his proven track record and extensive experience, coupled with a laser-focus on industry-leading operational practices will drive and extend Swiggy’s upward trajectory,” added Sriharsha. 

Vivek has about 20 years of experience in the FMCG industry. In his most recent role as the Managing Director, P&G, East Africa, Vivek was instrumental in driving both top and bottom-line growth while expanding its market share and margins in a difficult macroeconomic climate. Before becoming the MD, he has taken up various roles in P&G. After completing his MBA from IIM Calcutta in 1998, Vivek joined P&G as an Account Manager. Then he grew within the company and took different roles from Project Manager, District Manager, and Country Manager to finally becoming the Managing Director in 2016.
