HT Media COO steps down

Chief Operating Officer of HT Media Ashu Pakhey has stepped down from his role after six years. According to media reports, the industry veteran has moved on from the company to pursue a career in FMCG sector. 

Ashu Phakey has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing across FMCG, Retail and Media. He started his career with WIMCO and then went on to work with Frito Lay , Nestle JV,  Conagra Foods and Subhiksha Trading Services, where he was President Operations.

“I have cherished my stint at HT Media. My contribution to the company is a direct outcome of the core values that define HT Media - Empowerment, Entrepreneurship and People centricity. Having spent 10 years in media, I am moving back to FMCG. FMCG has undergone a transformation in the last 10 years with new emerging channels and consumer spaces. I am looking forward to building profitable businesses, working closely with consumers and channel partners and leveraging my retail and media experience,” Phakey told a business portal.

Before joining HT, Ashu Phakey was associated with the Dainik Bhaskar group as COO North - where he was responsible for  P&L management of  Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana operations. He was responsible for  establishing and extending the Dainik Bhaskar brand across the region. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce honours and a Masters degree in business administration from Punjab University.
