Managing Director of Yahoo India steps down

His next destination is unknown but he is likely to join the new organization very soon.

Yahoo India’s Managing Director and Vice President, Gurmit Singh has stepped down from his role after almost five years. He joined Yahoo India in February 2014 and led the organization to success in various segments. 

Before joining Yahoo, he was working with business magazine Forbes India as CEO. He worked with Forbes for three years and he was responsible for entire P&L, print, online and events business. 

Talking to People Matters, He said, “It was an excellent journey with Yahoo and the five years was a joyful ride. We achieved our revenue numbers.”

He didn’t disclose his next destination but mentioned that something exciting has come up and he will be joining the organization soon. 

In his previous stint, Gurmit Singh has worked with the English daily, Hindustan Times as Head, Mumbai Edition and Rajshri Media as CEO.  Singh is an industry veteran with more than twenty-five years of experience and he has worked with companies such as Marico, India Today and Sony Music. 

Singh is an alumnus of Osmania and Delhi University.
