ShareChat will hire about 100 to 150 people over the next few months and further invest in strengthening its infrastructure and presence in tier 2 cities and even beyond in the country.

The Bangalore based firm has grown from 100 employees team in December last year to over 300 employees. By December next year, there will be about 400-450 people as they add more workforce.

With a larger and a stronger team, ShareChat would look to scale its platform.

ShareChat co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Farid Ahsan shared, ""We are on track to win over the next billion users and scaling our platform. We envision a positive and exciting future for ShareChat. Every successful internet company has invested in building the scale first, before focusing on the bottomline."

Currently, about 15 to 20 per cent of SharChat users are from the top 8 cities in the country and about 30 to 33 per cent users are from locations that would be classified as small towns and villages. With the platform being available for users in their local Indian languages, the engagement levels are high at about 23 to 24 minutes a day. The social media platform has about 60 million monthly active users (MAUs) which ShareChat aims to double double by December next year.

"We are aiming at reaching 120 million MAU by the end of 2020," shared Ahsan.

With a Google-KPMG report, estimating that 536 million Indians are expected to use regional languages when online by 2021, ShareChat has a huge opportunity to grow and be profitable. Started in October 2015 by Ankush Sachdeva, Farid Ahsan and Bhanu Singh, how ShareChat makes most of this opportunity is to look forward to. With the market and the demand of consumers changing quite rapidly, Ahsan and his team have to keep on innovating and improving constantly to ensure that the solution is as relevant and relatable as possible.
