WhatsApp to hire India head for the first time

Facebook-owned cross-platform messenger app, WhatsApp is in search for India's head. The US-based company is looking for an individual who can lead their India operations which includes products for people and business along with peer to peer payments.

The leader is expected to a build a close partnership with product and engineering teams and to effectively represent WhatsApp’s long-term strategy. India's head is expected to handle day-to-day operations to support team’s efforts with key partners in the market, develop and execute on strategic partner initiatives and build relationships with other key constituents in the market and within Facebook.

It’s a full-time position based out of Mumbai and the India head will report to WhatsApp’s Chief Operating Officer in California.

Key Responsibilities

Represent WhatsApp’s product strategy in the country and drive alignment with partners and stakeholders.

Lead partnership efforts in the market, acting as a cross-functional leader across WhatsApp and Facebook teams.

Represent WhatsApp generally in the country as needed.

Minimum Qualification

Heavy user of WhatsApps products.

15+ years of experience in Product driven companies 5+ years of experience with payment technologies in India.

Proven ability to build relationships with key external and internal stakeholders and business leaders.

Experience working in start-up environments
