Sharp to reduce 10% of Japanese workforce

Sharp Corp will start a workforce reduction strategy starting April to reduce 10 per cent of its Japanese workforce. The struggling electronics company will reduce about 3000 jobs through voluntary retirement and will incur a cost of approximately 30 billion yen in retirement related expenses in 2015. The company may also reduce its North America workforce in the television business.
