India beats the rest on hiring growth: Manpower survey

India has clinched the numero uno position among a list of 36 countries in terms of net employment outlook for April-June, 2010, pegged at 39%—up 4 percentage points from January-March of the same calendar year. The survey conducted by human resources firm Manpower Inc. indicates the sheer optimism in the hiring scene that is drastically better than a year earlier when only 23% of the employers surveyed, on a seasonally adjusted basis, were keen on hiring. According to Sanjay Pandit, managing director of Manpower’s Indian arm, “Employers remain optimistic on account of strong domestic growth”. The net employment outlook captures the difference between the number of employers who are likely to raise their headcount and the number who actually plan to downsize it, adjusted for seasonal variations.
