The Monster Employment Index India, a monthly gauge of online job demand based on a real-time review of millions of employer job opportunities culled from a large representative selection of career Web sites and online job listings across India reveals that the annual growth in September was 12 percent. Media & Entertainment led the industry sector in terms of annual growth by registering a growth of 41 percent while printing/packaging recorded a steep decline of 13 percent in September. According to Sanjay Modi, Managing Director (India/ Middle East/ South East Asia), Monster.com, “Business-driven sectors like banking as well as their related occupations like finance and accounts, management, saw notable upticks despite the uncertain global economic environment.” In terms of geography all the 13 location monitored by the index exhibited positive year on year growth with Chandigarh registering the strongest yearly as well as monthly online growth while Hyderabad registered the slowest growth.
