Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio is in the news since inception after the company disrupted the telecom market with it’s LTE offering, giving free voice calls and lately the company also turned profitable. In the latest development, it’s being said that the company is hiring a team of skilled professionals who will work on Artificial Intelligence.

 According to a report in the business daily Livemint, the company has selected some senior people to build a new team and the team is likely to operate from Bengaluru or Hyderabad. According to the report, Akash Ambani is inclined to this new project and he is expected to lead this initiative. 

"Reliance Jio has already started the recruitment process in Bengaluru...apart from AI, it is looking for people who can work on machine learning and blockchain,” said, the report.

 The company is betting big on digital since the launch and collaborating with various other brands to consolidate its digital presence. With Artificial Intelligence becoming the next big thing in the global arena, Reliance Jio also wants to in cash this opportunity with their offerings and hence building an AI team is considered as the best move. 

It can be recalled, earlier this year while addressing the audience at the Indian Digital Summit in Mumbai, Akash Ambani highlighted the significance of AI where he mentioned that how AI, Voice Assistant and other technologies are becoming mainstream and it is growing on a daily basis.

We earlier reported that Airtel also appointed Santanu Bhattacharya as the Chief Data Scientist. He has been hired to expedite the integration of developing technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.

In his new role, Bhattacharya will be responsible for leveraging data science and in-depth analytics to recognize the unique needs of customers to innovate and develop new products and services at Airtel. He will be based out of Bengaluru and report to Harmeen Mehta, Global CIO & Head of Digital at Bharti Airtel.
