Alexa is now also a Virtual Recruiter

“Alexa, what is the Day 1 culture at Amazon?”

“Alexa, how do I find open job opportunities at Amazon?”

“Alexa, what are the leadership principles at Amazon?”

Amazon launches ‘Virtual Recruiter’, an Alexa skill which will enable interested candidates to access relevant information about the company and prepare better for the interview. It will also help them get all key details to learn about company culture and policies.

Available across all Alexa-enabled devices, Alexa app and Amazon shopping app (Android only), the skill can be used by candidates to get learning feed, access training resources, watch videos and receive periodic updates. The Alexa skill also has a feature where users can agree to receive additional details on their queries or follow up information on their email.

“At Amazon, we are guided by our passion to innovate for customers to make their lives simpler. Virtual Recruiter is a step in the direction of making the candidate experience smoother and seamless”, shared Raj Kaza, Director, Talent Acquisition – Consumer, APAC, Amazon.

The new Alexa skill doesn't just make it a Virtual Recruiter but also an on-demand hiring assistant which will help candidates with authentic information about Amazon and help prepare for their desired roles at the company.

The recruitment technology has witnessed tremendous innovation in the last few years. Many companies including Darwinbox and PeopleStrong have introduced ChatBots. Amazon's Alexa joining the group of 'Virtual Recruiters' creates a new stir. Would Alexa's skill limit to only sharing information with candidates? or In the near future, could Alexa also be taking interviews? Let's wait and watch.
