Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has signed a MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Government and electronics manufacturing company Flextronics to set up their operations in Andhra Pradesh soon. 

Representatives of the company joined by AP Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh, met CM Naidu at his office in the Secretariat. The company will invest approximately Rupees 585 crores and promises to create almost 6600 jobs in Andhra Pradesh. The MoU is for the setting up of a manufacturing facility in the state of Andhra Pradesh for a range of intelligent products.

IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Lokesh aims to create over 2 lakh employment opportunities in electronics segment in coming years.  He said, “Electronics major Flex is coming to AP marking a historic moment in the State’s pursuit to become the electronics hub of India. An MoU to this effect has been signed today in the presence of Hon’ble CM. This is yet another mega investment for AP that will create thousands of jobs.”

Francois Barbier, President, Global Operations and Components, Flex also added: “Flex is committed to providing Sketch-to-Scale solutions for intelligent products to complement India’s rapidly growing electronics industry and would like to thank the Government of Andhra Pradesh for their support.”

The government of Andhra Pradesh is betting big on electronics manufacturing. The government has launched their electronics policy 2014-2020 in September 2016.
