Chennai based company, Ramco Systems Ltd. is setting up its Asia-Pacific Centre of Excellence for Workforce Innovation in Melbourne. It will be located at Ramco’s Oceania headquarters in Melbourne’s Southbank district, which is said to be one of Asia-Pacific’s most promising start-up ecosystems.

The innovation center will help in drawing top tech talent from across Australia who will help to design and develop cloud-based solutions to address human resources challenges. With an aim to take the user to a frictionless computing era the center would be employing innovators who will prototype next-generation workforce management solutions. From programmers to consulting strategists and social scientists will be employed.  To source talent for the center, Ramco will partner with Victorian universities and other universities across Australia.

Earlier in 2016, Ramco had opened an engineering lab in Singapore, with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance as the first anchor partner.  The initiative was taken to develop advanced aviation IT solutions and the lab looked at developing solutions like wearables for ground engineers and drones to inspect aircraft on the tarmac. And the new innovation lab would allow Ramco to collaborate with the Victorian Government for leveraging local talent to prototype future-ready HR solutions designed to address the pain points of 21st-century working life.

P.R. Venketrama Raja, Chairman, Ramco Systems, said, “With millennials entering the workforce and Gig economy becoming the norm, traditional HR solutions are no longer able to address the changing demands of HR. This lab’s strategic location in Melbourne positions us at the forefront of this field and shores up our position as a leading global HR software developer.”

The innovation center in Melbourne will also be a hub for testing new-age technologies such as Chatbots, facial recognition based Time & Attendance, NLP based virtual assistants, and many more productivity tools to automate mundane daily tasks.
