With over more than four thousand properties across the country the budget hotel chain start-up, Treebo has extensive expansion plans.  Instead of consolidating their footprint in the country the Bengaluru based company has slashed ten percent of its workforce. 

According to media reports, the company has fired around 80 people from the organization. The company backed its decision on the back of technology adoption and less requirement of human resources. Undoubtedly with fast-moving technology scenario, many sectors are playing the technology card after firing their workforce.  

Recent trends not only show that the overload of the workforce impacts startups but technology giants such as IBM is also handling over pink slips to their staffs. 

We earlier reported that at least 200 people including blue-collar workers, professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMETs) are being laid off by IBM in Singapore.  The hotel chain has fired employees across all functions such as sales and quality check.
