Accenture has launched a global Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) Academy to help the automotive industry build the skills needed for the future of mobility. The programme, part of Accenture LearnVantage, will offer specialised training modules and a hands-on learning environment.

The academy aims to address a growing need for skilled workers as the automotive industry shifts towards software-defined, service-driven vehicles, a market expected to reach $3.5 trillion by 2040.

Building on Accenture's expertise in the automotive industry, the SDV Academy will provide a comprehensive curriculum with over 40 modules, covering hardware and software.

Participants will gain practical experience through hands-on projects and access to state-of-the-art labs. The programme also emphasises industry-specific standards and compliances.

Kishore Durg, global lead of Accenture LearnVantage, highlighted India's potential as a global automotive hub due to its growing EV and connected car market. He highlighted the need for Indian automakers to adapt to changing consumer preferences and equip their workforce with the latest technologies.

"Today, vehicles are viewed the same way as smartphones -- the ultimate connected devices. Our SDV Academy is here to help them take charge of their skilling journeys, and stay ahead in a rapidly developing, and competitive talent environment,” Kishore said.

In March 2024, Accenture launched its AI-powered learning platform, LearnVantage, with a $1 billion investment. For more insights, read our exclusive interview with the Senior MD and Global Lead of Accenture LearnVantage.
