How will Apple cope sans Steve Jobs?

In a stunning move, Steve P Jobs, resigned as the CEO of Apple on August 24, 2011, ending his 14 years reign at the technology giant which he founded in a garage. Jobs had almost single handedly reshaped a stunning range of industries: music, TV, movies, software, cellphones, and cloud computing. The products which he spearheaded into existence include Machintosh, iPod, iPhone, iTunes, etc. Each product in a way redefined the business and time and again proved that Jobs knew what the customers would want. Given that Apple’s pipeline is already stuffed with at least a couple of years’ worth of Jobs-directed products, in the short-term, there will be no significant difference in Apple’s output of cool, popular inventions. Jobs was known for the control he was able to exert and the loyalty he commanded; with his resignation there are expectations that the devoted team might soon fracture. Apple has a high concentration of geniuses be it in technology, design or marketing, and the fact that Job’s tastes, methods and philosophies are deeply entrenched in the company’s blood, one can be rest assured that Apple will continue to be Apple even in Jobs absence. In fact Jobs’ resignation has long been foreseen and thus his resignation will in no way derail the company’s fabled product-launch roadmap, including possibly a new iPhone in September, and a third iteration of the iPad in 2012.

Meanwhile, the reigns of Apple has been handed over to Tim Cook, who was strongly recommended by none other than the charismatic and visionary leader Steve Jobs himself.
