Cyber cheats new target - job seekers

The fear of losing the job or not finding a new one are not the only things which a person should worry about in these troubled times. According to internet security firm Trend Micro, at a time of economic downturn and severe unemployment, jobsites have become the latest target of identity thieves and hackers. These hackers hack job sites to gather personal information, often sensitive ones, about the job applicants and use them to cheat the unsuspecting ones. The company says that this information is then used to establish contact with the job seekers and dupe them by offering fake vocational opportunities such as ‘work from home’. It also says that the information regarding mobile phone numbers, addresses and even social security numbers are sold by the hackers in the subterranean markets.
