This week was marked by some high profile exits that may affect businesses in coming times. Newly elevated Infosys president BG Srinivas quit, joining the procession of senior executives turning their backs on Infosys. Vineet Taneja quit Samsung to join desi smartphone brand Micromax as its Chief Executive Officer.

This week was marked by some high profile exits that may affect businesses in coming times. Newly elevated Infosys president BG Srinivas quit, joining the procession of senior executives turning their backs on Infosys. Vineet Taneja quit Samsung to join desi smartphone brand Micromax as its Chief Executive Officer.

On the other hand, Former Infosys senior vice president Chandrashekar Kakal joined mid-sized IT services firm L&T Infotech as its chief operating officer (COO). Bata India Ltd appointed Nitesh Kumar as its Managing Director (Retail) with effect from May 21, 2014. Network18 appointed Avinash Kaul as CEO of IBN18 Network. Kaul will be responsible for the day-to-day operational, strategic and financial management of the general news network. Yuvaraj Srivastava who was the Director – Organisation Capability for PepsiCo India region has moved on to MakeMyTrip.Com on 21st May 2014 as the Senior Vice President & Head HR. Amongst the significant movements and appointments, last but not the least is the appointment of Cramer Ball as the Chief Executive Officer of Jet Airways (India) Ltd.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Amway India William S Pinckney has been arrested by Andhra Pradesh police. Pinckney, head of the direct selling company faces charges under section 420 of IPC (cheating) and violations under the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act 1978, according to Kurnool police. On the recruitment front there has been an interesting development as the online shoe retailer Zappos did away with job titles for its 1,500 employees. The candidates won’t find out about those jobs on LinkedIn.com, Monster.com or the company website. Instead, they will have to join a social network, called Zappos Insiders, where they will network with current employees and demonstrate their passion for the company–in some cases publicly–in hopes that recruiters will tap them when jobs come open.
