CARS24 announces period leave policy

To build a more inclusive workplace at CARS24, the auto-tech player, has introduced a Flow Time-Out Leave (period leave) for all the women employees enabling them to take a day off any time during the month, effective September. Currently, CARS24 has only 15% of its team is female.

“Starting this month, all women (including transgender people) at CARS24 can take the day off when they need to during their period. Why? Because I know and understand that it’s impossible to focus on anything when we are in pain,” said Vikram Chopra, co-Founder and CEO, Cras24 in a blog post.

“This isn’t just a policy—it’s personal. It’s about recognizing that our female and LGBTQIA+ Autonauts deserve better. For those of us who menstruate, every month, you’ll have the chance to take a day for yourself, no questions asked, no approvals needed. It’s about taking control of your health and well-being because you shouldn’t have to push through pain to prove your dedication.”

Vikram also shared a note with the men on the team. “Our female colleagues expressing that they are taking flow time out shouldn’t make us uncomfortable. This is a part of life; it’s why we have life. While most of us will never fully understand what women go through, we can at least trust them when they say they must test this out.”

He also encouraged female employees to avail leave without any shame or stigma. “Ladies, feel free to tell people on internal groups or emails that you are on your flow time-out for the day.”

In case you of any unnecessary harassment or distasteful comments from men or women about this, employees have been asked to report them to speakup@cars24.com – or the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) team will quickly spring into action.
