This week was marked by many movements in the C-suite. The Head of BBM service at BlackBerry, Andrew Bocking, left the company while its head of enterprise segment took over the operations. Avili Kaneswaran was appointed as the chief commercial officer at Spicejet and Bharat Sawhney took over as the new CEO of Reliance Communications. Besides that, Ashok Leyland announced that owing its lacklustre sales performance, its managing director Vinod K Dasari will take a paycut.

As the performance appraisal season starts winding up in companies, employees will be looking forward to their increments. A Times of India news report states that the increments this year will be good with employees in India expecting about 15% salary hikes.

TCS announced this week that it plans to finish its target of 25,000 campus hires over the next couple of months. The company has already hired 21,000 from over 350 campuses. Alongside, Infosys has announced plans of inducting MBAs from reputed global business schools from across the globe for several of its key global operations.

Companies have finally woken up to the fact that investing in internal talent will pay in the long run. A news report by the Economic Times states that companies are finally making efforts to promote internal talent for key positions as opposed to relying too heavily on hiring external talent. Some companies have made it mandatory for leaders to periodically report to the senior management about their probable successors.
