Amul to consider no-confidence motion against chairman

According to an Economic Times report, the board of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which owns the Amul brand, will consider a resolution of no-confidence against Chaudhary on Saturday.

Many directors have hurled allegations of financial irregularities and misconduct at Amul Chairman Vipul Chaudhary and demanded his removal. This is the third time such a boardroom battle has erupted in the cooperative since 2006 when the legendary founder chairman Verghese Kurien was ousted, the report added.

The report mentioned one Amul director as saying that at least a dozen board members have already signed a resolution against Chaudhary.
