Companies do away with stack ratings

There is an increasing trend among companies to do away with stack rankings, or rating an employee against a peer, as it has proved to be a catalyst for attrition. Companies are devising new mechanisms to review performance of employees, including ‘check in’ review system which is a simple and transparent method of appraising managers based on how they have met their targets on an ongoing basis. Many large companies, such as Microsoft, HCL Technologies, and Adobe have done away with stack ranking for good.
