Pidilite names Ashish Prasad as new CHRO as Rahul Gama steps down

Pidilite Industries has appointed Ashish Prasad as its new chief human resources officer, marking a significant change in the company’s leadership structure. The move follows the resignation of current CHRO Rahul Gama, who will remain with the firm until 31 January 2026 to ensure a smooth transition, the company announced.

Gama, who resigned on 11 November 2025, is leaving to pursue new opportunities outside the organisation. His departure ends a long association with the adhesives and specialty chemicals manufacturer, which has been expanding its product portfolio and organisational capabilities over the past few years.

Pidilite said Prasad’s appointment reflects its intent to strengthen its human resources function and support long-term strategic goals. With nearly 28 years of experience across sales, brand management, operations, digital transformation and strategy, Prasad is expected to play a central role in shaping the company’s talent and organisational agenda.

Before joining Pidilite, Prasad served as chief executive at Sintex BAPL, part of the Welspun Group. He previously held senior roles at Ashirvad Pipes, where he was senior vice president, and has worked across several large consumer and building materials companies including Asian Paints, Teamlease Services, Holcim India–ACC and Ashirvad Pipes. An IIM Ahmedabad graduate, Prasad also has prior experience with Pidilite, giving him familiarity with the company’s culture and business model.

Leadership continuity in HR has become increasingly important for consumer and industrial firms navigating tightening labour markets, digital transformation and evolving workforce expectations. Pidilite’s decision to bring in a leader with cross-functional and cross-sector experience suggests a broader push to fuse talent strategy with organisational growth.

The company has not provided further details on upcoming HR initiatives but indicated confidence that Prasad will help drive the next phase of workforce development and capability building as Pidilite scales its operations.
