Delhi to set up three industrial hubs for AI, biotech and robotics

Government proposal for Kanjhawala, Ranikhera and Baprola to cover 1,200 acres, create lakhs of jobs, officials said.
The Delhi government has finalised a proposal to develop three new industrial areas with a focus on artificial intelligence, biotechnology and robotics, officials said on Tuesday.
The proposed hubs will be located in Kanjhawala, Ranikhera and Baprola, covering about 1,200 acres. According to the officials, the initiative is expected to create lakhs of new jobs in emerging sectors.
The plan will be placed before the Cabinet for approval, the officials said. Financial support will be provided through a public-private partnership (PPP) model to encourage growth in high-technology industries.
Officials said the hubs will follow a “satellite town” model, featuring mixed-use development that combines offices, residential spaces, community centres, hotels, markets and green zones.
An official told reporters the government’s vision is to create “modern, mixed-use spaces, similar to Gurgaon's Cyber City,” aimed at attracting top talent and boosting the capital’s economy.
The developments will also include eco-friendly infrastructure and renewable energy systems. Connectivity will be enhanced through the Delhi Metro network and public bus services, officials added.
Employment potential
According to the officials, the three industrial areas are designed to provide significant employment opportunities, particularly in advanced technologies. The focus on AI, biotechnology and robotics reflects an effort to align Delhi’s industrial growth with global technology trends.
Further details, including investment estimates and timelines, will be shared after the Cabinet considers the proposal, officials said.
