Swiggy reshuffles leadership, appoints new CGPO, CTO and COO

Internal leadership elevations strengthen Swiggy's Instamart and Food Marketplace businesses as the company sharpens its focus on growth, technology and operational execution.
Swiggy has announced a leadership reshuffle across its quick commerce and food delivery businesses, appointing Himavant Kurnala as Chief Growth and Product Officer (CGPO) for Instamart, Nitesh Garg as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Instamart, and Saurav Goyal as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Food Marketplace.
The appointments come as Swiggy's Instamart and Food Marketplace businesses continue to expand, with the company deepening its focus on customer growth, technology innovation and operational efficiency.
Commenting on the appointments, Girish Menon, CHRO, Swiggy, said the company has consistently focused on developing internal talent and providing leaders with opportunities to take on larger responsibilities.
Internal leaders take on expanded mandates
The three executives have held key roles within Swiggy and have been closely involved in scaling some of the company's most important business functions.
According to Swiggy, the appointments recognise their contributions across product development, engineering, operations and business execution.
Key leadership changes include:
- Himavant Kurnala appointed as Chief Growth and Product Officer, Instamart
- Nitesh Garg appointed as Chief Technology Officer, Instamart
- Saurav Goyal appointed as Chief Operating Officer, Food Marketplace
The expanded responsibilities place customer growth, technology and operational execution under leaders who have spent years building Swiggy's core businesses.
Kurnala to lead growth and product strategy at Instamart
Himavant Kurnala has led Instamart's product organisation since 2024 and later took charge of growth and brand marketing.
Swiggy said Kurnala played a central role in transforming Instamart into an AI-native product organisation by bringing together Product, Design, Analytics, and Trust & Safety functions under a unified structure.
His work has included initiatives such as:
- Maxxsaver
- Multi-pod delivery
- Instamart's standalone application
- AI-powered search and personalisation
- Merchandising and pricing capabilities
- Brand portal monetisation
- Supply-chain optimisation initiatives
According to the company, these efforts contributed to growth in transacting users, daily orders and advertising revenue while helping reduce customer acquisition costs.
In his new role, Kurnala will oversee Product, Growth, Marketing and Analytics functions.
Garg steps up as Instamart technology chief
Nitesh Garg, who has spent more than seven years at Swiggy, has been elevated from Senior Vice President to Chief Technology Officer for Instamart.
Swiggy said Garg has led Instamart's engineering organisation since its inception, helping build both consumer-facing technology platforms and supply-chain systems.
His responsibilities have included developing core platforms across:
- Advertising
- Pricing
- Discounting
- Product catalogue systems
The company noted these platforms are now used across Instamart, Food Marketplace and other Swiggy businesses.
Garg has also overseen technology architecture, platform reliability and the adoption of AI-driven capabilities across engineering operations.
Goyal takes charge of Food Marketplace operations
Saurav Goyal has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Swiggy's Food Marketplace business after serving in several leadership positions since joining the company in 2020.
His experience spans business finance, strategic planning, driver and delivery operations, and profitability initiatives across both Food Marketplace and Instamart.
According to Swiggy, Goyal played an important role in:
- Supporting the company's IPO journey
- Driving operating leverage across business units
- Leading Driver and Delivery Product and Operations
- Launching Toing's shared delivery network model across more than 50 cities
- Integrating Operations, Product, Analytics and Marketing into a unified Driver & Delivery organisation
Food Marketplace also recorded its strongest growth quarter in early 2026 under his operational leadership, the company said.
As COO, Goyal will continue leading Driver and Delivery operations while also assuming responsibility for Food Customer Experience.
Leadership changes follow broader organisational moves
The latest appointments are part of a wider leadership evolution at Swiggy.
Recent changes have included the appointment of Nandita Sinha as Chief Executive Officer of Instamart and Gautam Swaroop as Chief Business Officer of Instamart. Earlier this year, Swapnil Bajpai was elevated to Chief Executive Officer of Swiggy's Dineout and Scenes business, while Sidharth Bhakoo continues as Chief Business Officer of Food Marketplace.
The leadership transitions come as Swiggy continues to invest in quick commerce, food delivery and adjacent consumer services across India.
Focus shifts to the next growth phase
With Instamart operating in 131 cities and Swiggy Food serving customers across more than 720 cities through a network of over 270,000 restaurant partners, the company is entering a new phase of scale.
The elevation of Kurnala, Garg and Goyal signals a continued emphasis on strengthening product innovation, technology capabilities and operational discipline as Swiggy expands its presence across multiple consumer services categories.
