BlackBerry denies deliberate bid to downsize in India

Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry downsized its employee base in India because of a global transformation drive, and it wasn't a deliberate attempt to trim staff here, said a top official of the company. The company is trying to reduce its dependence on the hardware or smartphone business and focus more on software and solutions for enterprises. It is planning to make India it's largest global R&D hub.
