Samsung India plans on creating a robust R&D talent pool for both global and local markets by hiring over 1,000 engineers from top institutions namely IITs & BITs this year. These new hires are expected to work in futuristic and highly demanded cutting edge technologies such  Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, networks, and image processing.

Of these 1,000 new hires, 260 will be from IITs and the rest will be from top engineering colleges, including BITS Pilani, NIITS, and IIITs and another 250 will be from pre-placement offers, the company said. IIT Jodhpur and Goa will also be added to the list this year. Samsung has one of the largest concentrations of R&D engineers in India outside of its South Korea headquarters.

"This is part of our continued growth and expansion plans in India. For us, R&D has been on the front. We opened our first R&D centre in India in 1996 in Bengaluru, and a factory in the same year. This shows our commitment to the Indian market and India-related product and talent," Sammer Wadhawan, Head, Human Resources, Samsung India, told IANS.

With three R&D centres in the country in Bengaluru, Noida and Delhi, Samsung’s hiring plans will be a welcome opportunity to take advantage of the digital talent in the country and to nurture it further.
