Mahindra Group has appointed Shveta Arya as Group Chief Strategy Officer, effective September 15, 2026. She will also join the Senior Management of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
In her new role, Arya will lead the Group Strategy Office and work across Mahindra’s portfolio of businesses to identify growth opportunities, unlock value and strengthen the Group’s long-term strategic advantage.
Arya will be part of the Group Executive Board and report to Dr Anish Shah, Group CEO and MD, Mahindra Group.
2 decades of leadership experience
Arya joins Mahindra Group with more than 23 years of experience spanning publicly listed multinational organisations and management consulting.
Her career includes leadership experience across the automotive, travel, financial services and telecom sectors.
She most recently served as Managing Director of Cummins India Limited, where she was responsible for driving business growth, customer success, talent development and an inclusive and ethical workplace culture.
Prior to Cummins, Arya led Strategy and M&A at Thomas Cook India. She has also held various roles at Kearney and Infosys.

Her appointment comes as the Group continues to focus on strengthening its portfolio and building long-term strategic advantages across its businesses.
Advocate for diversity and women's empowerment
Arya is also an advocate for diversity, inclusion and women's empowerment. During her tenure at Cummins, she was the programme sponsor for the company's flagship initiative focused on creating large-scale impact in the lives of girls and women in India.
She describes herself as passionate about constructive change and holistic progress for customers, employees and communities.
Arya holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Information Technology from Delhi University.
