Sabyasachi, the luxury fashion and jewellery brand majority-owned by the Aditya Birla Group, has appointed Manish Chopra as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 1.
An entrepreneurial leader with deep cross-sector experience, Chopra joins from Reliance Retail Ventures, where he served as CEO of the new business development initiative.
Confirming his appointment on LinkedIn, Chopra wrote, "Thrilled to share that I’ve joined Sabyasachi as CEO, effective July 1."
He further shared that this new role is more than a career move — it’s a mission to help build the first truly global luxury fashion house from India.
“Sabyasachi is not just a brand; it’s a cultural force — one that has redefined Indian craftsmanship, storytelling, and design language for the world stage. With the Aditya Birla Group acquiring a 51% stake in 2021, the foundation is now set for bold expansion,” he said.
From its roots in Calcutta, Chopra will work closely with Sabyasachi Mukherjee, whose vision continues to blend heritage and modernity in a uniquely Indian yet globally relevant way.
“We aim to take Indian luxury to new global heights, grounded in authenticity and artisanal excellence,” Chopra added.
Before his stint at Reliance, Chopra held leadership roles across retail, consumer markets, and technology.
He began his career at Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals and PwC, and later co-founded the e-commerce company Zovi.com and Little Internet. At Meta, he led partnerships for Facebook India across media, content, payments, and business growth initiatives.
