Union Bank of India has appointed Asheesh Pandey as its Managing Director for a three-year term, marking the return of a seasoned banking professional with nearly three decades of experience in the Indian banking sector.
Pandey previously served as Executive Director at Bank of Maharashtra, where he played a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency and business growth. His extensive career also includes a significant tenure at Union Bank of India, where he held key leadership positions such as Chief General Manager & Chief Operating Officer, General Manager – Credit Monitoring, DGM & Regional Head Jaipur, and DGM & Executive Secretary to the Chairman & MD. Throughout these roles, he contributed substantially to business strategy, governance, and operational excellence.
Known for his expertise across retail, corporate, and international banking, Pandey has been instrumental in shaping Union Bank’s strategic ventures, including the establishment of Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance and Union KBC Asset Management Company Limited.
With his return as MD, Pandey is expected to leverage his deep industry knowledge and leadership experience to strengthen Union Bank of India’s market position, enhance operational efficiency, and drive sustainable growth.
