OnGrid has acquired Reczee, an AI-native recruitment platform, in a move aimed at bringing hiring and background verification onto a single technology stack, the company said.
The acquisition allows OnGrid, best known for digital trust and background verification, to move earlier into the employee lifecycle by embedding verification logic at the point of hiring rather than post-offer. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded as an AI-first hiring platform, Reczee automates candidate sourcing, screening, coordination and hiring through a single system, reducing reliance on multiple tools and manual workflows. The platform is used primarily by high-growth startups and technology firms managing rapid hiring volumes, OnGrid said.
Reczee will continue to operate as a standalone product, with its existing roadmap and customers intact, while being integrated into OnGrid’s wider product ecosystem. The company said the focus would be on tighter alignment between recruitment decisions, onboarding and verification workflows.
“Recruitment is where trust begins,” Raj Patel, founder of Reczee, said in a statement, adding that the acquisition would connect AI-led hiring with onboarding, verification and long-term workforce accountability. Patel, who previously held senior product and engineering roles at BrowserStack and Harness, will join OnGrid’s technology leadership team.
Founded in 2016 by IIT Bombay alumni, OnGrid serves more than 4,000 organisations across background verification, identity checks, KYC and KYB. The company said it has processed over one billion verifications and transactions to date.
Piyush Peshwani, co-founder of OnGrid, said the acquisition reflects growing demand from employers to integrate instant verification directly into the hiring process rather than treating it as a downstream compliance step. He added that OnGrid had used Reczee internally before deciding to pursue the acquisition.
The deal comes as Indian HR-tech and trust-tech platforms increasingly converge, driven by tighter compliance requirements, distributed workforces and the need to reduce hiring risk at scale. Embedding verification into recruitment workflows could shorten time-to-hire while improving auditability, industry observers say.
Looking ahead, OnGrid said it would continue investing in verification infrastructure, APIs and workforce systems, with the Reczee acquisition forming part of a broader effort to standardise how organisations manage trust across the employee lifecycle, including international markets.
