FuelBuddy has appointed Jagdeep Kumar Rana, a former senior executive at IndianOil Corporation, as Managing Director for its India business. The appointment comes as the doorstep fuel delivery company expands its fuel management and energy distribution services across industrial, commercial and institutional segments.
Rana joins FuelBuddy after a 38-year career at IndianOil, bringing extensive operational, engineering and leadership experience from one of India's largest energy companies. According to company information, he will oversee FuelBuddy's India operations and focus on strengthening supply chain capabilities, safety practices and customer-facing services.
Veteran energy executive takes charge
Before joining FuelBuddy, Rana served as Executive Director, Northern Region, at IndianOil, where he was responsible for overseeing 168 operational locations spread across 10 states.
His career at IndianOil spanned multiple business functions, including LPG operations, engineering, planning, plant management and health, safety and environment (HSE). Over nearly four decades, he held several leadership positions across the organisation.

- Executive Director, Northern Region
- Chief General Manager (HSE), Corporate Office
- General Manager (LPG), Punjab
- Chief General Manager (LPG), Rajasthan
- Chief General Manager (Planning & ES), Punjab
Rana is a civil engineering graduate from Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra, and has also completed the Management Education Programme at IIM Ahmedabad.
Experience across large-scale energy operations
During his tenure at IndianOil, Rana contributed to a range of operational and strategic initiatives across the energy value chain.
Among the notable assignments highlighted in his professional profile were:
- Supporting fuel supply operations for defence forces in forward areas of Northern India during Operation Sindoor
- Contributing to the rollout of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in Punjab
- Working on the commissioning and digitisation of IndianOil bottling plants
- Supporting early implementation of SAP and Indsoft systems within IndianOil's Marketing Division
His experience spans both frontline operations and corporate leadership, covering infrastructure management, safety governance and large-scale distribution networks.

At FuelBuddy, Rana is expected to play a key role in strengthening operational execution as the company scales its services across India.
