ITC Infotech CEO Sudip Singh exits after seven years; Manas Chakraborty to take over

ITC Infotech’s chief executive officer and managing director Sudip Singh has stepped down after seven years at the helm, with president and chief operating officer Manas Chakraborty set to take over the top role, people familiar with the matter said.

Confirming the transition in an internal communication, ITC chairman Sanjeev Puri said Singh had decided to move on in pursuit of longer-term entrepreneurial aspirations. “As part of his longer-term entrepreneurial aspirations, Sudip has decided to pursue new opportunities and will be moving on from ITC Infotech,” Puri said in the note.

Singh’s departure marks the end of a seven-year stint during which ITC Infotech sought to sharpen its positioning as a mid-sized IT services player within the ITC Group portfolio. Before joining ITC Infotech, Singh was with Infosys, where he served as global industry head for the energy, utilities and resources business.

Manas Chakraborty, who will step into the chief executive role, joined ITC Infotech three years ago from Tech Mahindra. As president and COO, he has overseen day-to-day operations and execution, giving him continuity at a time when IT services firms are navigating cautious client spending and uneven demand across key markets.

Financially, ITC Infotech reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹4,244 crore in the last fiscal year, along with a net profit of ₹450 crore, according to company disclosures. The numbers place the company among the smaller but profitable players in India’s IT services sector, which has been facing margin pressures and slower decision-making by global clients.

The leadership transition comes at a time when IT services companies are reassessing growth strategies, talent deployment and sectoral focus amid rapid advances in artificial intelligence and automation. Chakraborty’s elevation signals an emphasis on operational continuity as the company positions itself for its next phase.

Looking ahead, the immediate challenge for the new chief executive will be to sustain profitability while steering ITC Infotech through a volatile demand environment and sharpening its value proposition in a crowded and fast-evolving IT services market.
