CaratLane, India’s leading jewellery brand under the TATA Group, has appointed Subhashish Chakrabarty as Chief People Officer, effective immediately.
In his new role, Chakrabarty brings over 18 years of HR leadership experience across the technology and manufacturing sectors. He most recently served as HR Director at ElasticRun.
Announcing his departure from ElasticRun, Chakrabarty wrote, “Monday marked my last day at ElasticRun, where I worked with a dynamic team through rapid change, leadership growth, and execution agility in a fast-paced startup environment. This journey deepened my understanding of driving transformation with speed, transparency, and collaboration.”
Before ElasticRun, Chakrabarty held senior HR roles at Amazon and served as Head of HR at ITC Group, along with other key responsibilities.

As Chief People Officer, he will lead CaratLane’s people strategy, working closely with the leadership team to nurture and strengthen the company’s culture.
On the academic front, Chakrabarty holds a Master of Arts in HR and Labour Relations from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology. He has also completed a CHRO Leadership Program at Cornell University.
Chakrabarty succeeds Benjamin Felix Rajkumar, who served as CaratLane’s Chief People Officer from April 2025 to September 2025, completing four years with the company overall. Rajkumar has now joined Page Industries as Chief People Officer, effective immediately.
