EY plans to hire 14,000 employees for its Global Delivery Services centres in India as a part of its plans to bolster its technology and consultancy services delivery network.

The audit and professional services giant is looking to add professionals with advanced analytics skills and other highly-skilled professionals across eight GDS centers in the nation. At present, about 27,000 people are working at EY’s GDS centers.

The sharp rise in the demand for digital transformation and innovation focused services from global clients has urged firms like EY to look towards expanding their capabilities and the workforce, according to Srinivasa Rao, Global Vice-Chair at EY.

“We are looking and reaching for higher value talent. The areas we’re looking at are typically advanced analytics, cybersecurity, automation, machine learning, and AI,” said Rao.

EY has a significant part of services that are delivered through the vendor ecosystem which are delivered by both Indian and global service providers. As businesses change digitally, new talent in the STEM field is required and the demand is expected to rise further.

The auditing firm has also opened a third Wavespace center that is a technology experience center in Bengaluru in addition to the ones in Thiruvananthapuram and Mumbai.
