In an attempt to bring transparency in the recruitment process of staff selection for government jobs, Uttar Pradesh government has decided to eliminate the process of holding interviews for non-gazetted government jobs. Now the only criterion for recruitment to these posts will be written exams.

"Keeping in mind the system followed by the Government of India, it has been decided to end the interview process for the government jobs in all non-gazetted posts of Group B, Group C, and Group D," an official statement said.

UP Government spokesman and Health Minister Sidharthnath Singh was quoted in media saying that “There would be no interviews during recruitment of non-gazetted Class II officers. The Central Government has already said no to interview for such recruitment from December 29, 2015. The UP Government will follow the directives of the union government.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced in his monthly Mann Ki Baat program about putting an end to interview for Group D, C, and B non-gazetted posts in central government.
